Mozart Without a Maestro! An Orchestra without a Conductor?! How is That Possible?! ! You are invited!! ! Saturday afternoon, November 22 beginning at 3:00 PM.! ! El Cerrito Community Center! 7007 Moeser Lane! El Cerrito, CA 94530! ! In a return engagement, Lucas Valley Chamber Orchestra will perform Mozart without maestro and more; works by Elgar and Haydn will be featured on the program as well:! ! 1. Edward Elgar, Serenade for Strings.! 2. W. A. Mozart, Clarinet Concerto, with soloist Alan Shonkoff.! 3. Joseph Haydn, No. 99! ! A self-directed community orchestra, Lucas Valley Chamber Orchestra (LVCO) is an ensemble inspired by the renowned Orpheus Chamber Orchestra of New York, a recording professional group which has been operating successfully without a conductor for more than forty years. Unlike Orpheus, LVCO members are all volunteer players. LVCO performances are presented as public service and funds received benefit local community programs.! ! Presented by the City of El Cerrito Arts & Culture Commission,! Admission is free of charge. ! Donations will be accepted to benefit El Cerrito Recreation Department’s David Hunter Memorial Youth Scholarship Program, providing access to recreational programs for disadvantaged children and youth in our community.!
