The deadline for applications was extended to January 23, 2014 at noon. In accordance with new rules adopted by the City Council on December 3, sitting commissioners will term out on January 1, 2014. New appointments resulting from the interviews conducted in January and February will become effective March 1, 2014. Any candidates who have listed a committee as a preferred choice on their applications are contacted by the City Clerk and the staff liaison to discuss the committee appointment process. ARTS & CULTURE COMMISSION (ACC) [Three Vacancies] Michele Jawad (PRC 1st, ACC 2nd) listed the Arts and Culture Commission as her second choice and is scheduled for interview this evening;. Amanda Glueck (HRC 1st, F AB 2nd, ACC 3rd) and Christopher Sterba (PRC 1st, COA 2n , ACC 3rd) submitted applications listing ---PAGE BREAK--- Special City Council Meeting Commission Applicant Interviews Page 2 the ACC as their third choice and are also scheduled for interview this evening. John Thompson (DRB 1st, PC 1st/2nd, ACC 3rd) submitted an application listing the Arts and Culture Commission as his third choice and was interviewed on January 7. Staff contacted Dug Waggoner and Steve Haskamp from the 2012-2013 recruitment and neither were interested in being considered for an appointment this year. Sitting commissioners Nancy Donovan and Joyce Hawley do not wish to be considered for reappointment. Deb Danziger was reappointed on January 7, 2014 for a term beginning on March 1, 2014 and ending March 1, 2018. CITIZENS STREET OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE (CSOC) [One Vacancy] There is one vacancy on the Citizen Street Oversight Committee. Matt Kelly has applied for the Committee listing it as his first and only choice. Mr. Kelly is scheduled for an interview this evening. DESIGN REVIEW BOARD (DRB) [One Vacancy] Cassandra Adams’ first term expired January 1, 2014. She is currently serving an interim term which will conclude on March 1. Ms. Adams is scheduled for an interview this evening. Maggie Leighly was reappointed to the Design Review Board to a term commencing on March 1, 2014 and concluding on March 1, 2018. John Thompson (DRB 1st, PC 1st/2nd, ACC 3rd) has listed the Design Review Board as his first choice and was interviewed on January 7. FINANCIAL ADVISORY BOARD (FAB) [Two Vacancies] Bruce Yow (FAB 1st, CPC 1st, EDC 2nd, EQC 3rd) and Amanda Glueck (HRC 1st, FAB 2nd, ACC 3rd) have both applied for the Financial Advisory Board and are scheduled for interviews this evening. Nicholas Arzio (FAB 1st, EDC 2nd, CPC 3rd Dick Patterson (FAB 1st, EDB 2nd, CPC 3rd ) and Raymond Francis (FAB 1st, Library 2nd, CBOC 3rd ) have all listed the Financial Advisory Board as their first choice and were interviewed January 7 along with Gregory Crump (PC 1st, FAB 2nd, EDB 3rd ) who listed the FAB as his second choice. HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION (HRC) [One Vacancy] There is one vacancy on this Commission. Amanda Glueck (HRC 1st, FAB 2nd, ACC 3rd) has applied for the Human Relations Commission listing it as her first choice. Ms. Glueck is scheduled for an interview this evening. PARKS AND RECREATION (PRC) [One Vacancy] There is one vacancy for this Commission as Manish Doshi was reappointed on January 7 for a term beginning on March 1, 2014 and ending on March 1, 2018. Michele Jawad (PRC 1st, ACC 2nd) and Christopher Sterba (PRC 1st, COA 2nd, ACC 3rd) are both scheduled for interviews this evening listing the Park and Recreation Commission as their first choice. Glen Lubcke (PC 1st, PRC 2nd, EQC 3rd ) has also applied, listing the Park and Recreation Commission as his second choice and is scheduled for an interview this evening. ---PAGE BREAK--- Special City Council Meeting Commission Applicant Interviews Page 3 PLANNING COMMISSION (PC) [One Vacancy] The Planning Commission has one vacancy. Lisa Motoyama’s first term expired January 1, 2014. On January 7, she was reappointed to serve on the Planning Commission March 1, 2014 through March 1, 2018. She is currently serving an interim appointment that concludes on March 1. Gregory Crump (PC 1st, FAB 2nd, EDB 3rd Michael Iswalt (PC 1st and only) and John Thompson (DRB 1st, PC 1st/2nd, ACC 3rd) have also applied for the Planning Commission and were interviewed January 7.
