October 31, 2013 From: Oakland Art Association John Henry, Events Coordinator 962 Neilson St, Albany, CA 94706 [PHONE REDACTED] To: Suzanna Iarla, Community Outreach Specialist Arts and Culture Commission City of El Cerrito Dear Suzanne, The Oakland Art Association (OAA) would like to show a sample of member’s artwork in the City Hall Gallery Space. Our member’s artwork includes painting, photographs and work in other media. All of our member’s work can be hung on a gallery wall. The OAA is a nonprofit organization supported by its artist members and patrons. The OAA, founded in 1957, currently has approximately 65 members. Although the name of the organization identifies it as an Oakland organization, in fact the majority of our members live in various parts of the East Bay, including El Cerrito. If accepted, we would like to show a sample of the most recent work by our artist members. Our work is juried by a professional juror before it is accepted into a show, and prizes are awarded after the work is hung. Our preference would be for a show scheduled for July-August, 22014, or else November- December, 2014. Of course, we would adjust our show schedule to accommodate your schedule, as needed. Examples of our artists work from recent shows are attached. Please note that these are no the works we propose to show in your gallery – the work to be shown will be determined through our jury process, and almost always consists of recently completed work, never previously shown in an OAA exhibition. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you, John Henry Events Coordinator, Oakland Art Association [PHONE REDACTED] [EMAIL REDACTED] ---PAGE BREAK--- American Coot.
