Collection rates for compacted refuse are the same as the rates for bulk refuse collection. Actual bills per pickup of compacted refuse reflect the container size (in cubic yards), times the 1-yard bulk refuse collection rate plus the 1-yard IWM Fee, plus the Per-yard compacted refuse disposal rate (which was last set at $57.75, effective January 1, 2010). The IRRF Rate, which is set by the West Contra Costa County Integrated Waste Management Board, covers the cost of garbage disposal, green waste processing, and other associated services provided by the West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority, a.k.a. RecycleMore (www.recyclemore.com). The IWM Fee covers curbside recycling collection for El Cerrito residents and businesses and supports the daily operations of the El Cerrito Recycling Center. The Fee is assessed on each trash container collected by East Bay Sanitary Company.
