C3027.15, C3063.4, C3072.4 ADDENDUM NO. 1 October 1, 2014 TO: All Prospective Bidders The additions and/or deletions contained in this Addendum shall be made part of the plans and specifications, Special Provisions, and contract documents for the above described project, and shall be subject to all applicable requirements thereunder, as if originally shown and/or specified. Acknowledge of this addendum on P-2 is required on your proposal. The Contract Documents are revised as follows: PROPOSAL BID SHEET Replace Bid Proposal, Page P-1 with the attached new Bid Proposal, Page P-1: SPECIAL PROVISIONS Replace Sections 21-1.11, “Removal of Existing Sidewalk, Curb and Gutter”, and 21-1.12, “Payment,” pages SP-37 and SP-38, with the new Sections 21-1.11, “Removal of Existing Sidewalk, Driveway, Curb and Gutter”, and 21-1.12, “Payment,” below: 21-1.11 REMOVAL OF EXISTING SIDEWALK, DRIVEWAY, CURB AND GUTTER Contractor's attention is directed to Standard Specifications Section 19-2, "Roadway Excavation". Existing concrete improvements to be removed shall be marked in the field by the Contractor and accepted by the Engineer prior to sawcutting and removal. Any existing concrete improvements damaged outside this limit shall be repaired by the Contractor. The repair for damaged concrete shall be made by removing and replacing the entire portion between weakened plane joints or score lines and not by refinishing the damaged portion. Existing Sidewalk, Driveway, Curb and Gutter to be removed shall be sawcut at the nearest joint or score line, and sawcut at the lip of gutter adjacent to existing asphalt concrete pavement unless otherwise directed by the Engineer. Existing concrete improvements to be removed vary in thickness and may include decorative concrete or brick pavers. No additional compensation shall be given for varying concrete thickness or for decorative concrete or brick pavers. Concrete and all other material removed shall be disposed of outside the highway right of way in accordance with the provisions in Section 7-1.13, "Disposal of Material Outside the Highway Right of Way" of the Standard Specifications. Sawcut slurry shall be prevented from entering the storm drain system by covering or barricading storm drains.
