AGENDA BILL Agenda Item No. S(J) Date: May 7, 2013 To: El Cerrito City Council From: Janet Bilbas, Senior Services Supervisor Subject: Committee on Aging Membership Recommendation ACTION REQUESTED Approve a Committee on Aging recommendation to appoint Arlinda Babcock to the Committee on Aging, effective May 15, 2013. BACKGROUND At the April 17, 2013 Committee on Aging regular meeting the members voted unanimously to recommend to the City Council the appointment of Ms. Arlinda Babcock. For the past 20 years Ms. Babcock has been active in the senior community as a caregiver and advocate. Elder issues and concerns are Ms. Babcock's life work and passion. Her background working as a senior caregiver and advocate has informed her an made her aware of their issues. Ms. Babcock is looking forward to working with the Committee on Aging and playing an active role in improving senior's lives in El Cerrito.
