Agenda Item No. 4(A) EL CERRITO CITY COUNCIL PROCLAMATION Congratulating Officer Carlos Maldonado on his recognition by the Exchange Club of Albany- El Cerrito as the "Officer of the Year" WHEREAS, Officer Carlos Maldonado embodies professionalism and leadership in the field of Law Enforcement; and WHEREAS, Officer Carlos Maldonado graduated from the Basic Police Academy and began the Field Training Program on Apri1261h, 2010; and WHEREAS, Officer Carlos Maldonado maintains an exceptional dedication to law enforcement and has consistently proven himself to be an outstanding employee; and WHEREAS, Officer Carlos Maldonado excelled in traffic safety efforts, leading his division in contacting hazardous drivers; and WHEREAS, Officer Carlos Maldonado shows his commitment to compassionate service in his daily interactions with community members and routinely places the needs of the City and Department before his own; and WHEREAS, Officer Carlos Maldonado has demonstrated adherence to the Mission of the Department, which states, "The El Cerrito Police Department is committed to service, safety and enhancing the public trust through professionalism and leadership." NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of El Cerrito hereby commends Officer Carlos Maldonado on the occasion of his recognition by the Exchange Club of Albany- El Cerrito as the Officer of the Year on May 23rct, 2012. The City Council extends sincere appreciation to Officer Carlos Maldonado for his devotion to the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Police Department.
