2020 Call for Artists “Art That’s Small at Eagle City Hall” Page 1 of 2 Eagle Arts Commission “Art That’s Small at Eagle City Hall” 2020 Call for Artists OVERVIEW “Art That’s Small at Eagle City Hall” is an open exhibition presented by the Eagle Arts Commission (EAC). All works deemed acceptable will be exhibited at Eagle City Hall, 660 East Civic Lane, Eagle, Idaho from May 1, 2020 through May 31, 2020. There will be a Reception and Awards Ceremony at Eagle City Hall beginning 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2020. ELIGIBILITY Entries will be accepted from residents within the Treasure Valley age eighteen (18) years or older. All entries must be original, have been executed within the past two years and accepted through the registration process. HONORARIUM First Place: $300.00. Second Place: $200.00. Third Place: $100.00. Mayor’s Choice Award: $50.00 REGISTRATION, ENTRY REQUIREMENTS & ARTWORK DELIVERY 1. To register, artists are required to submit their completed Entry Form and an image of their artwork via email to [EMAIL REDACTED]. The Entry Form can be found at the bottom of this document. The completed entry form may be scanned or photographed and submitted as an individual PDF or JPG file. 2. Digital images shall be in JPG format and each shall not exceed five megabytes in size. The JPG file name format shall be: Last Name_First Name_Title. Example: Adams_Ansel_Bridalveil Fall. 3. The first sixty (60) emailed Entry Forms will be accepted. Artists will be notified of their acceptance per the date noted below. Only one entry will be allowed per artist. 4. A non-refundable entry fee of ten dollars ($10) will be charged upon artwork delivery. Payment by check, cash or credit card will be accepted. Checks must be made payable to the “City of Eagle.” Credit card processing fees will be applied. 5. Including the frame, artwork must be no longer than twelve inches (12”) along any edge and not greater than three inches in depth. Gallery or museum wrapped canvases from 1-3/8” to 3” in depth are permissible as long as the edges are appropriately finished. If artwork does not comply with the size requirements, it will be disqualified. 6. Artwork mediums may include, but not necessarily limited to, oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, mixed media and relief. Due to space restrictions for this event, photography, photographic art and computer-generated art will not be accepted. 7. At the time of delivery, artwork must be completely dry, suitably framed, and securely wired for wall hanging. Toothed hangers will not be permitted. See strap-hangers-wire-bumpers/ for instruction on how to wire artwork for hanging. 8. The EAC reserves the right to reject any Entry Forms or delivered artwork it deems inappropriate or does not comply with the entry requirements. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2020 Call for Artists “Art That’s Small at Eagle City Hall” Page 2 of 2 TIMELINE 1. Monday, February 24, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., Registration Begins:. Email the completed Entry Form and JPG image of artwork to [EMAIL REDACTED]. 2. Sunday, March 29, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., Registration Ends. 3. Wednesday, April 1, 2020: Review of Entry Forms. Artist accepted will be notified. 4. Friday, April 24, 2020: Between 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. artwork along with the Entry Form and entry fee must be delivered to Eagle City Hall, 660 East Civic Lane, Idaho. Any artwork submitted before, or after, those hours will not be accepted. 5. Friday, May 1, 2020: The exhibit opens and is available for viewing from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. 6. Thursday, May 14, 2020: Between 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Reception and awards ceremony to held at Eagle City Hall between The Awards ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. 7. Monday, June 1, 2020: Between 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., all artwork must be picked up at Eagle City Hall. Any artwork not picked up may be assessed five dollars per workday for storage. JUDGING An independent judge will be responsible for the selection of First, Second and Third Place. There will also be a Mayor’s Choice award.
