RESOLUTION 12- 17 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, ADA COUNTY IDAHO SUPPLEMENTING THE EAGLE ARCHITECTURE AND SIGN DESIGN BOOK WITH ADDITIONAL PHOTOS FOR PORTABLE ON-PREMISES ADVERTISING SIGNS AND PORTABLE OFF-PREMISES DIRECTIONAL SIGNS; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTVE DATE. Whereas, Eagle City Code Section 8- 2A-8, " Sign Regulations"; Item A, "Applicability, Paragraph 3, " Architectural Compatibility" states: " The number, area, and height ofsigns as outlined in this article are intended to be maximum standards which do not necessarily ensure architectural compatibility. Therefore, in addition to the enumerated maximum standards, the City shall give consideration to a sign's relationship to the overall appearance ofthe subject property as well as the surrounding area."; and Whereas, Eagle City Code Section 8- 2A-8, " Sign Regulations"; Item Applicability, Paragraph 4, " Materials and Appearance" states, " It is the intent ofthis article to encourage interesting, creative, readable, effective, uncluttered, and well maintained signage. Sign materials and appearance shall be complementary to the building architecture and colors. The exhibits provided in the EASD book are examples of the types ofsign designs envisionedfor the Eagle architecture theme."; and Whereas, the City of Eagle hereby provides some photo examples of Portable On-Premises Advertising Sign designs and Portable Off-Premises Directional Sign designs that do meet the intent of Eagle City Code Design standards, and Whereas, the City of Eagle hereby provides some photo examples of Portable On-Premises Advertising Sign designs and Portable Off-Premises Directional Sign designs that do not meet the intent of Eagle City Code Design standards. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND EAGLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, IDAHO, as follows: Section 1: Some photo examples of Portable On-Premises Advertising Sign designs and Portable Off-Premises Directional Sign designs that do meet the intent of Eagle City Code design standards, are attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A; and Section 2: Some photo examples of Portable On-Premises Advertising Sign designs and Portable Off-Premises Directional Sign designs that do not meet the intent of Eagle City Code design standards, are attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit B; and Section 3: The provisions of this resolution are hereby declared to be severable and if any provision of this act or the application of such provision to any person or circumstance is declared invalid for any reason, such declaration shall not affect the validity of remaining portions of this resolution. Section 4: This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval, and publication.
