Shreeve, Sr., Chief Building Official Subject: Electric Meter Release Requirements Electric Meter Release - Residential The Building & Safety Division will release the electric meter upon successful completion of the final inspection. At the discretion of the Chief Building Official or his designee, the electric meter may be released after the approval of the sheetrock inspection, provided the main disconnect has been installed and a ‘Lock Out/Tag Out procedure is submitted and approved signed by the jobsite superintendent and electrical contractor foreman. (Main) House Meter Release - Multi-Family & Commercial The Building & Safety Division will release the main house electrical meter upon successful completion of the final inspection. At the discretion of the Chief Building Official or his designee, the meter may be released when the main switch gear is inspected/approved and a submitted and City of Dublin approved lock out procedure is on file. The common areas are to be rendered safe; this includes but is not limited to hallways, corridors, lobbies, stairs, laundry rooms, equipment rooms, parking lot lights (when applicable) and the house sub-panel is installed and labeled. Temporary Power Poles All temporary power poles shall comply with the California Electrical Code in affect at the time of permitting.
