Douglas County Weekly Snowmobile and Winter ATV Trail Report Information provided by Club Members of the Northwest Trails Association and compiled by the Douglas County Forestry Department. Please remember, users can also call the 24 hours a day/7 days a week Douglas County Trail Hotline for the latest up-to-date trail information including, conditions, openings, and closings… (715) 378-4528. UPDATED 02/07/2012 MOST TRAILS UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF THE DOUGLAS COUNTY FORESTRY DEPARTMENT REMAIN OPEN FOR THE SEASON. SEE SE QUADRANT FOR IMPORTANT TRAIL CLOSURE. Trail conditions vary widely throughout the county and all areas could use additional snow to improve things. Thank you to everyone who worked on preparing/grooming the trails for the season. For a map showing trail status scroll down to page 4: NE Quadrant Trails remain open at this time, however all grooming operations have been suspended until additional snowfall occurs. Trails east of Highway 53 are generally in poor to fair condition Trails west of 53 are generally in very poor to poor condition NW Quadrant Due to the warm weather almost all the snow we had is just about gone. Road routes are just about bare. There will be no grooming until we get at least a foot of snow. It will take at least that much to get over the bridges. ATVing is bad, swamps are froze good but really rough. Hill sides in the sun are dirt. Will update if things change 1 ---PAGE BREAK--- SW Quadrant Douglas County: All Cozy Corner Trails sections in the southwest quadrant of Douglas County are open. There is not sufficient snow for grooming in any areas. Trails are very rough, but frozen completely. While safe for atv’s, they are not suitable for snowmobiles. Please continue to watch for new deadfalls and branches throughout the 2011‐2012 snowmobile season. The storms of 2011 may continue to create hazards throughout the year. SE Quadrant Trail 41S (Wild Rivers Trail west to Trail 3- The snowmobile only segment) has been closed due to lack of snow and private easement requirements. The gates have been shut until additional snowfall occurs. PLEASE RESPECT THIS CLOSURE OR WE RISK LOSING THIS TRAIL SEGMENT. All other trails remain open however, grooming operations have been suspended until additional snowfall occurs. Trail conditions are generally poor at this time. 2 ---PAGE BREAK--- 3 Trail 3 All of Trail 3 is now open. Grooming has been suspended until additional snowfall occurs. Douglas County Ski Trails Trails were last packed and track set on 01/30/2012. All grooming has been suspended at this time until additional snowfall occurs. Trails are in poor condition at this time.
