Douglas County Weekly Snowmobile and Winter ATV Trail Report Information provided by Club Members of the Northwest Trails Association and compiled by the Douglas County Forestry Department. UPDATED 12/14/2011 As is typical for this time of year, certain trail segments can be opened and others are not ready yet due to wetland crossings and/or have restrictions due to private land easements. It is critical that we respect the landowners who allow us to use their property... please review the information below carefully before trail riding and confirm that you are using open trails. Please note that on certain trails only segments of that trail may be open at this time. Thank you. NE Quadrant Winter recreational trails remain closed at this time. NW Quadrant All summer ATV trails are Good, open, and ready to groom with snow. All winter recreational trails remain closed at this time except for those trail within the city limits of the City of Superior. SW Quadrant The trails maintained by Cozy Corner Trails, Inc., are not ready to open. There is no snow, and the unseasonably high temperatures this week have only made it worse. Please continue to watch for new deadfalls and branches throughout the 2011-2012 snowmobile season. The storms of 2011 may continue to create hazards throughout the year. SE Quadrant All summer ATV trails are good, open, and ready to groom with snow. Corridor 35N&S (Wild Rivers Trail), Open - Good for ATV. Corridor 41s (from CTH Y to Burnett County) Open - Good for ATV. Trail 5, (Flowage road to the West Mail Road) Open - Good for ATV, use caution west of Coyote road (well signed), ready to open and groom with snow. 27b Open - Good for ATV. Ready to groom with snow. Trail 541 Closed, one tree to remove, ready to open and groom with hard freeze and snow. Corridor 41N (Solon to warming shack) -closed-, ready to open and groom with cold/snow. 1 ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 Corridor 41S, (corridor to Lookout, Private easement) Closed, ready to open and groom with snow. 7 Closed – ready to open with cold weather to freeze wet area. 27 - (From trail 7 north to the Trail 27/27A intersection only) closed. Trail 3 Open from Trail 41/Trail 3 intersection (SOUTH OF CTH T) east to Chipmonk Hollow Road. Closed from the Trail 41/Trail 3 intersection (NEAR CTH Y) south CTH T (PRIVATE EASEMENTS). Douglas County Ski Trails Closed at this time due to lack of snow.
