Chapter 4.09, Page 15 4.09 POSSESSION OF LIQUOR OR FERMENTED MALT BEVERAGES ON SCHOOL GROUNDS THE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF DOUGLAS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. DEFINITIONS In this ordinance: A. AMotor Vehicle@ means a motor vehicle owned, rented or consigned to a school. B. ASchool@ means a public, parochial or private school which provides an educational program for one or more grades between grades 1 and 12 and which is commonly known as an elementary school, middle school, junior high school, senior high school or high school. C. ASchool administrator@ means the person designated by the governing body of a school as ultimately responsible for the ordinary operations of a school. D. ASchool premises@ means owned, rented or under the control of a school. SECTION II. POSSESSION Except as provided in paragraph no person may possess or consume intoxicating liquor or fermented malt beverages: A. On school premises; B. In a motor vehicle, if a pupil attending the school is in the motor vehicle; or C. While participating in a school-sponsored activity. SECTION III. PERMITTED POSSESSION Intoxicating liquor or fermented malt beverages may be possessed or consumed on school premises, in motor vehicles or by participants in school-sponsored activities if specifically permitted in writing by the school administrator consistent with applicable laws and ordinances. ---PAGE BREAK--- Chapter 4.09, Page 16 SECTION IV. PENALTY A person who violates this ordinance is subject to a forfeiture of note more than $200.00, except that disposition in proceedings against a person under 18 years of age shall be as provided by Wisconsin Statute 48.344.
