1 Douglas County Weekly Snowmobile and Winter ATV Trail Report Information provided by Club Members of the Northwest Trails Association and compiled by the Douglas County Forestry Department. UPDATED 03/08/2013 SW Quadrant Douglas County – All trails were groomed this week. Conditions are good to very good. NE QUADRANT Friday, March 8, 2013 Very warm today, waiting to see what’s left after the weekend. General Conditions: Conditions are mostly good with some icy and dirty corners. A few open areas have developed small dirty bare spots. New snow: A small amount of new snow in Poplar and Maple as of Tuesday. South Range had about 1 inch with more to the west. Grooming: Groomers have been running a full grooming schedule. All BRR trails have been groomed again since Wednesday. 1: Groomed - Good to the Brule River 2: Groomed between Superior and Brule. Thinner in/near Superior. 4: Groomed from Brule to the warming shack at 4-41 Junction. Good on each end of our area and thinner it the middle section. 6: Groomed into Lake Nebagamon on Monday. Condition of road routes are unknown at this time. 24: Groomed to/from Poplar. Northern half a little thin but good. 27/27A: Groomed from Brule to St Croix Lake, along with 18 leading to Bayfield County. Snow is thinner towards the Lake St Croix with some icy corners. Bayfield Trail # 1: Reopened this year with more road routes, some of which are questionable. Bayfield Trail # 2: Groomed, open. Bayfield Trail # 24: Groomed, open. Bayfield Trail # 18: Groomed, open. Bayfield Trail # 17: Groomed open. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 We left a light on at the warming shack for you. . NW Quadrant trail 41- 4&41 groomed Monday in excellent condition trail 2-43 from 105 to Reed Merrill Rd groomed Monday good condition trail o groomed Monday night good condition trail 28 groomed Wednesday good condition trail 2 the crosstown done Wednesday good condition – road routes/alleys melting out we had 2-3 inches of new snow trail 4 43 groomed this week, in good shape ride and enjoy, join a club SE Quadrant No update available at this time – the following is from 3/1/13 35N groomed 2/24 Good with scattered bare spots 5/541 groomed 2/25 Good with scattered bare spots 7/27, 41S, 41N, 35S –scheduled for grooming during the evenings before the weekend. Updates will be provided when grooming has occurred. Trail 3 03/05/13 Trail 3 is scheduled for grooming before the weekend…conditions should be good to very good after grooming occurs. Douglas County Ski Trails Trails were groomed and tracked on Thursday March 7th..
