It is critical that we respect the landowners who allow us to use their property... please review the information below carefully before trail riding and confirm that you are using open trails. Please note that on certain trails only segments of that trail may be open at this time. We anticipate frequent updates as the clubs report in with trails they have checked. In all areas where the winter recreational trails are closed the clubs are actively working on the getting the trails open. Ice conditions – Wisconsin DNR website provides general and safety information about ice conditions: http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/outdoorrecreation/activities/icesafety.html NW QUADRANT The Crosstown Trail is temporarily closed from the Tower Avenue crossing eastward to the Tri- County Corridor in order to protect the base at the golf course and by the tank farm. Trail 4-41 is still being worked on now that we got parts froze down. Swamp on 4-41 west of Erickson Creek not froze enough to take groomer across. This trail segment (Warming Shack to the Milchesky Road)remains closed at this time. Trail 4 -41 from Milchesky road south to warming shack is still closed due to 1/4 mile swamp not yet froze enough Trail 41,4 ,43 ,2,66 0,28, open and reports are they are in good shape Road routes are fair to poor but passable No grooming is being done unless we get a goodly amount of snow With the weather report our short season will be drawing to a close NE QUADRANT Monday, February 29, 2016 BE VERY CAUTIOUS OF ICY CORNERS AND HILLS. Less snow to the NW near Superior. 3/4 of an inch over Sunday night in Poplar. 7.4 inches on the ground. Trail 2: (Tri-County Corridor) Probably will not be groomed west of Amnicon Falls. Trail 35: (Wild Rivers Trail) Probably will not be groomed north of 4 West. Trail 235: Was temporarily closed between 35 and Hwy E but has reopened. All other trails are groomed and in decent or passable condition. TRAILS GROOMED THIS WEEK, Sunday evening/night or Monday All trails have some icy hills and corners. Trail 27: Groomed and mostly good condition with some icy hills and corners. Trail 27A: Groomed, conditions vary widely from dirt, snirt, frozen water holes in some corners, a large dirty spot in the open area to very good in some areas. Trail 235: Was temporarily closed between Trail 35 and Hwy E but has reopened. Trail 635 Status unknown. Assumed to be in decent shape. Trail 24 could be closed suddenly north of Middle River Road if we loose too much snow cover on the fields. PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION TRAILS ARE FLOODED WITH ICE IN SOME AREAS.. SE QUADRANT, TRAIL 3 and TRAILS 17/217 Trail 41n from the Wild Rivers Trail to the warming shack will be closed effective 8 AM 3/2/2016 Trail 17 South of Fowlers Circle is in closed Trail 217 is in Poor condition Trail 17 from Cabin Lane to Fowlers Circle is in Poor Condition (Scheduled to Groom Wednesday – Possibly Closing Trail 17 South Sunday Evening) Trail 3 –is in poor condition and probably will not be groomed this week due to lack of snow. JPR UPDATE – Grooming has been suspended due to a combination of lack of snow in areas, icy trail base conditions, and 1 groomer being out of service due to mechanical issues. Trails are in poor condition with significant rutting caused by the trail base softening last weekend during the 50+ degree weather and then re-freezing. SW QUADRANT Trail 9 from Town Road TT north to the Trail 9/Trail 935 intersection is closed due to a water hazard where a groomer broke through the ice. ---PAGE BREAK--- Douglas County - trail 5, 935 open, fair to good condition - swamps in open areas may be a bit mushy So hoping the trails hold up until Saturday - Cozy Corner Trails 41st Annual Booya is Saturday, March 5, noon- 5, Hillside Inn The frozen ground ATV/UTV trails on the Burnett County end (118,925,118) seem to have held up remarkably well, considering the warm temps on Saturday.
