As is typical for this time of year, certain trail segments can be opened and others are not ready yet due to wetland crossings and/or have restrictions due to private land easements. It is critical that we respect the landowners who allow us to use their property... please review the information below carefully before trail riding and confirm that you are using open trails. Please note that on certain trails only segments of that trail may be open at this time. We anticipate frequent updates as the clubs report in with trails they have checked. In all areas where the winter recreational trails are closed the clubs are actively working on the getting the trails open. NE Quadrant Brule River Riders Trail Report for Wednesday, December 10, 2014: Brule River Riders have been grading, mowing and cleaning trails this fall. We traded up our boom mower for one with a longer reach. About 3 - 4 inches of new snow from Brule to the warming shack Snow cover seems to be better to the eastern part of our area. (Brule - Poplar - Lake Nebagamon - and south to Hwy 27 on Trail 27) Club members have been working to clear and freeze down trails enough to hold up groomers. All Brule River Riders Trails are now open. Trail 1: Open with one groomer pass from the Brule River. Kind of messy in the wet areas. Trail 2: (Tri - County Corridor): Groomed from Brule to Moccasin Mike Road near the Superior City Limits. Trail 4: Open from Brule to the warming shack at the southern 4 and 41 Junction. Not groomed. Trail 6: Open, not groomed. Trail 24: Open, not groomed Trail 27: Open and groomed to St Croix Lake. (except the northern 1/2 mile through the wet areas). Snow levels drop off somewhat south of Hwy 27 Trail 35: (Wild Rivers north of 4 East) Open, not groomed. Snow is thinner than to the west, assumed to be less yet to the north.. CAUTION: Wetlands are soft underneath.
