1 Douglas County Weekly Snowmobile and Winter ATV Trail Report Information provided by Club Members of the Northwest Trails Association and compiled by the Douglas County Forestry Department. UPDATED 02/22/2013 NE QUADRANT Friday, February 22, 2013 General Conditions: Conditions vary mostly from good to very good with some excellent areas. Snow cover is a little less in/near Superior, more in Hawthorne, Bennett and Poplar with more yet around Brule and Lake Nebagamon. Snow cover on Trail 27 drops off way to the south but the trail is good condition with some icy corners buried under the new grooming. Higher traffic levels will polish off some of the tight corners. New snow: Several inches of new snow around Poplar, Brule, Maple, Lake Nebagamon, Hawthorne today. Grooming: We moved into a full grooming schedule last week. All BRR trails were groomed as of late Monday evening except the northern 15 miles of Trail 35 which is scheduled for Friday. Thursday - Friday: All BRR trails were groomed again for the second time this week. And are in very good condition. Bayfield Trail # 1: Reopened this year with more road routes, some of which were the greatest. Bayfield Trail # 2: Groomed, open. Bayfield Trail # 24: Groomed, open. Bayfield Trail # 18: Groomed,open. Bayfield Trail # 17: Groomed open. We left a light on at the warming shack for you. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 NW Quadrant Trails 41 and 4@41 groomed today not perfect, but real good for what snow we have. Trails 4 and 43 will be groomed Thursday, good shape now. Trails 66 and 2 will also be groomed Thursday. Trail 2 crosstown was groomed Saturday to Barkers Island, good shape. Ride and Enjoy SW Quadrant Douglas County - Trails were groomed, will be done again this week as conditions/weather permits. 9, 5, 925, 930, 935 in good riding condition. Burnett County - Trails were groomed, will be done again this week as conditions/weather permits. 151, 18, 925 are in good riding condition. SE Quadrant Weekend grooming schedule 2/21/13 Corridor 35N, 27b, Good 2/22/13 Trails 7/27 Good 2/23 (after dark) Corridor 41N Good 2/24 Trail 5 Good, Trail 541 (logging) Poor. 2/25 Corridors 35S, 41S Good Trail 3 All of Trail 3 is now open, has been groomed and is in fair to good condition. Douglas County Ski Trails Trails were groomed and tracked on Thursday February 14th. The conditions are generally good with scattered icy/drifted areas.
