It is critical that we respect the landowners who allow us to use their property... please review the information below carefully before trail riding and confirm that you are using open trails. Please note that on certain trails only segments of that trail may be open at this time. We anticipate frequent updates as the clubs report in with trails they have checked. In all areas where the winter recreational trails are closed the clubs are actively working on the getting the trails open. Ice conditions – Wisconsin DNR website provides general and safety information about ice conditions: http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/outdoorrecreation/activities/icesafety.html NE QUADRANT Trail 41 & trail 4 to trail 43 is now open rough in spots, use caution. Trail 43 66, 0, 28,open rough. Grooming is expected to be done by this weekend. will keep sending up dates as things happen Trail 4-41 from Milchesky road to warming shack is still closed. Work is expected to be done by next week. Please do not use trail as we have open water yet can not get through. I repeat dangerous do not go around barricades. NW QUADRANT Brule River Riders Trail Report Tuesday, February 9, 2016 New snow, 6 inches last week in Poplar, less to the NW with additional snow the last couple days As a result of the warm weekend and one groomer down (for a short time, two groomers down) our grooming schedule is a little different this week. With the can do attitude of the Brule River Riders most riders won't notice much difference. Everything except Trail 35 (Wild Rivers) 235 and 635 will be groomed by this afternoon. (Tuesday) Conditions vary a bit but most trails are in very good condition or better. With the exceptions of lower snow levels in Superior our trails held up well with the light Super Bowl Weekend traffic. More details: Most trails are very good condition or better. Trail 1: Groomed Monday Trail 2: (Tri-County Corridor) Groomed Monday between Brule & Superior. Groomer operator turned around at Moccasin Mike Rd in Superior. Trail 4: Groomed Brule to Hawthorne on Monday with only one 10 ft wide pass. As of Tuesday morning grooming is in progress to the warming shelter and back from Hawthorne. Trail 6: Groomed Monday (both ends) Trail 24: Groomed Monday Trail 27/27A: Groomed Sunday night. Trail 35 (Wild Rivers Trail): In progress Tuesday morning. ---PAGE BREAK--- Trail 235: Southern Portion of the trail may be groomed Tuesday evening or Wednesday from 35 to Hwy E. Trail 635: Possibly to be groomed Thursday The Brule River Riders has something new for you! We have constructed a new club trail (235) through the Parkland area between trail #2 (Tri-County Corridor) and trail #35 (Wild Rivers Trail). This will connect the TCC east of Superior, past the Checker Board, west of downtown South Range and on the Stone Road to the Wild Rivers Trail. The trail is complete but could use a little more stump grinding, other than that is ready for this snowmobile season. We have also a new club trail (635) between Lake Nebagamon and the Lake Minnesuing county boat landing. It could use a little more stump grinding to get it nice, but will be passable. Sad News: We have lost an easement on property near 18th Street Road, in Hawthorne. We will be back on our old trail to the 18th Street Road. We may be able to go back on the trail around the gravel pit next year. SE QUADRANT, TRAIL 3 and TRAILS 17/217 Trail 217 is in Good condition – Grooming on Thursday Trail 17 from Cabin Lane to Fowlers Circle is in Good Condition – Grooming on Thursday Trail 17 South of Fowlers Circle is in Good Condition – Grooming on Thursday Trail 3 - Wascott had about 3 inches of snow in the last week and Trail-3 is in fair condition improving to good condition in places. All other trails in the SE quadrant are scheduled to be groomed before the weekend. Will provide updates as the club completes the grooming. SW QUADRANT Trail 9 south of Moose Junction remains closed due to a serious hazard, it is dangerous and illegal to attempt going around the gate. Trail 935 is also closed at this time. Trail 9 north of Moose Junction is open, ungroomed, still some water coming up in the larger swamps. Should be safe for snowmobiles, just not for the groomer. Trail 5 is open, groomed, and in good condition. Trails 925, 151, 118 in Burnett County are groomed and in good condition. No grooming is being done on the swamp next to Highway 35 just north of the St. Croix River, safe for snowmobiles, not for the groomer.
