DOUGLAS COUNTY TRAIL INFORMATION MARCH 3, 2015 NE Quadrant Brule River Riders Trail Report for Tuesday, March 3, 2015: Trail Conditions were steadily improving with the small snowfalls but the warm March sun is hard at work melting our snow. Conditions still vary widely from small amounts of poor and fair to large areas of good, very good condition. New Snow: A dusting or two last week. Trail 24 out of Poplar will be open day to day due to the extremely light snow cover on the farm fields. Sledders and ATVers: Please do not use Trail 24 in the open fields unless surface is frozen solid. We do not want to lose our easements! ATVS can detour to the east and use Maple or Wiehe Drive to access the Middle River Road. Later this week and next week we will be brushing the upper end of Trail 27 and Trail 4 between Brule and the warming shack. Grooming: Trail 1: Groomed one pass on Monday 3/3/15 from # 2 (TCC) to Brule River. The road route on the Miller Road has improved without the truck traffic from logging. Trail 2 (Tri-County Corridor): Groomed one pass Monday 3/3/15 from Amnicon Falls to Brule. Thin areas around Wentworth and Poplar. The Hwy 2 crossing is bare. Trail 2 (Tri-County Corridor): Groomed from Amnicon Falls to Mocasin Mike Road in Superior on last Wednesday 2/25/15. Trail 4: Groomed Monday 3/3/15 between Hawthorne and Brule. There are a few thin areas but conditions are holding somewhat. Trail 4: Groomed Sunday 2/23/15 from Hawthorne to the warming shack at the Jct of 4 and 41. Thin in some areas better in other areas. Scheduled for grooming Tuesday or Wednesday. Trail 6: Groomed Monday 3/3/15. Groomer operators report good trail conditions with deteriorating conditions on road routes. Trail 24: Groomed Monday 3/3/15. Conditions are very thin in the open areas near Poplar. Groomer operator reports extremely thin snow conditions on the northern most field. Trail 27/27A: Groomed Monday 3/3/15 from Brule to St Croix Lake. Trail is thin for the first mile on each end but otherwise the trail has large areas of great riding. Trail 35: (Wild Rivers) Grooming only the portion overlapped by Trail 4. SW Quadrant Douglas County - Cozy Corner Trails area is open, being groomed, and we are waiting for the snow to fall tomorrow, will groom again!! Trails 9 and 5 were brushed last week, looking great! Burnett County - open, being groomed, hoping the snow really comes tomorrow!! COZY CORNER TRAILS 40TH ANNUAL BOOYA WILL BE HELD REGARDLESS OF TRAIL CONDITIONS OR WEATHER ON SATURDAY, MARCH 7. Additional grooming will take place when the current storm ends. Have fun out there & please be careful. Please remember that the portion of Trail 41 from the Wild Rivers west to Trail 3 is snowmobile only. Trail 3 – 4-Seasons Rec Club Trail-3 south from Hwy-T to Trail 41: Condition is poor. Trail-3 east from Hwy-T to Chipmunk Hollow Condition is poor. Trail-3 north from Hwy-T to Trail-41: Closed due to lack of snow. ---PAGE BREAK--- Trail 217 and Trail 17 Get-Er-Done Club Trails are OPEN Trail 217 is groomed and in Good to Fair Condition Trail 17 is Groomed and in Good to Fair Condition Douglas County Ski Trails The Ski trails are scheduled for grooming and tracking on Friday, March 6, 2015. With the current storm depositing fresh snow conditions are anticipated to be significantly improved after the grooming efforts.
