All summer recreational trails under the management of the Douglas County Forestry Department have been opened for the season. Some township/village roads which are designated as ATV Routes remain closed at this time. Please contact the township/village officials directly to determine if a particular road is open or closed at this time. For a directory of town/village officials please follow this link: http://douglascountywi.org/ Go to the “Government” tab and hit “Town and Village” officials. Please note – Club Trail 217/17 in Gordon has been opened from the Wild Rivers Trail east to the county line by the Get-ER-Done Club. The portion of Club Trail 217/17 that goes southward towards East Mail Road is temporarily closed at this time. For further information, please contact the Douglas County Forestry Department at (715) 378-2219 during regular business hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday – Friday excluding holidays. ---PAGE BREAK--- All snowmobile Trails are not Summer ATV Trails. Riding these trails in the summer may damage the trail base, threaten private land ease­ ments, and result in trail closures. Those found operat­ ing on closed snowmobile trails may be cited. ATTENTION All ATVs that are registered outside of Wisconsin will be required to visibly and per­ manently display a Nonresident ATV Trail Pass on the forward half of the ATV. The Trail Pass costs $35 and is available at any license agent. Special Attention for Illinois, Michigan or other states: Illinois and Michigan do not have an ATV registration system that is recognized in Wisconsin. You must either register your ATV in Wisconsin or purchase a valid ATV trail pass to legally operate in Wisconsin.
