DAM MAINTENANCE PLAN APPENDIX E-II DOUGLAS COUNTY FORESTRY DEPARTMENT DAM INSPECTION / REPAIR PLAN Douglas County owns and operates the following seven water control structures: NAME CODE Saint Croix (a.k.a. Gordon Dam) GD Lower Eau Claire (Mooney Dam) MD Cranberry Creek Flowage CC Moose River Flowage (Jackson Box) JB Olson Meadows Flowage OM Park Creek Pond PC Stateline Flowage SF In 2004 all Douglas County water control structures were inspected by Northern Environmental Technologies, Inc. of Park Falls, Wisconsin. Each of the dam inspections included examination of earthen dike condition, and condition of concrete headwalls, wingwalls, piers, aprons, water level control devices and surrounding vegetation. Seven individual reports were prepared. Each report consists of a dam inspection form with observations noted, a dam inspection narrative that lists findings and repair recommendations, including cost estimates for repairs or modifications and photographs of observed conditions. This report outlines the recommended repairs and establishes a tentative timeline for these repairs (as recommended by the professional engineers). This report is an effort to develop and implement a plan for these needed repairs so that sufficient funds may be planned for and budgeted by the Douglas County Board of Supervisors during their normal budget development process. Inspections are recommended every 5 years for Gordon Dam and Mooney Dam (2004, 2009, 2014, etc).
