1 Douglas County Weekly Snowmobile and Winter ATV Trail Report Information provided by Club Members of the Northwest Trails Association and compiled by the Douglas County Forestry Department. UPDATED 02/04/2014 SE Quadrant 02/04/14 Trails 41N, 7, 27, 27B, 27C, 5 and 541 have been groomed since the weekend. Trail 35 and 41S scheduled for grooming before the weekend. NE Quadrant Updated 7 AM Tuesday February 4 CONDITIONS: The area has a minimum of a foot and a half or more snow on the ground. Most trails are in very good to excellent condition with some drifting last week. GROOMING: Short version. Everything has been groomed since the Weekend except the northern 15 miles of # 35 (Wild Rivers Trail) Trail 1: Groomed Monday Trail 2: Amnicon Falls to Brule, groomed Monday Trail 2: Amnicon Falls to Superior. groomed Sunday evening. Trail 4: Hawthorne to the warming shelter at the Jct of 4 & 41 groomed Sunday evening. Trail 4: Hawthorne to 6 West (Big Rock Corner) Groomed Monday. Trail 4: Brule to 6 West, (Big Rock Corner) Groomed Monday. Trail 6 East: Groomed Monday. Trail 6 West: Groomed Monday. Trail 24: Groomed Monday. Trail 27/27A: Brule to St Croix Lake: Groomed Sunday evening. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 Reports of the Brule Groomer broken down proved untrue after a marathon of wrenching by dedicated wrenches out side in the cold, Tuesday and Wednesday. Trail 27A: Logging operations are still in progress north of Rifle Range Road. Trail 35 (Northern 15 miles of Wild Rivers) scheduled for Wednesday. Very bad drifting south of Mikrot Road. First time we've ever stuck a groomer last Thursday. Mark your calendars for our cookout Saturday, February 15 at our Warming Shelter at the Jct of Trails 4 & 41 west of Hawthorne. The Cookout runs from 10 am to 2 pm and the 50/50 Raffle is at 2 pm Stop and check out our warming shelter a with wood stove, gas grill, porta potty and lights. We left a light on for you. NW Quadrant 02/04/14 Crosstown route was groomed last week Fri Trail 0 – groomed 02/04/14 Scheduled grooming: Wed – Amnicon Lake to Stateline and then Reed Merrill Road (trail 41/4/43) Thursday – Amnicon Lake to the warming shack (trails 4/41) Thursday – Reed Merrill to Saunders and wrenshal Grade (Trail 43/2/66) SW Quadrant 02/03/14 Douglas County - All trails in the SW Quadrant of Douglas County are in very good to excellent condition. The snow and grooming conditions are better than we've seen in many years! 9, 930, 5, 5A are all groomed and ready to ride! There is some logging going on in a few areas - be aware, they are not affecting the trails at this time, but are out there! Burnett County - 925, 151, 118 are all very good to excellent - there is some logging going on in the area - please watch for them!! Trail and grooming the best we've seen in years! Cozy Corner Trails Booya - March 1 - Hillside Inn - noon- 5 PM Trail 3 02/04/14 Trail 3 will be groomed tonight and Friday.
