CITY OF DOUGLAS PRESS RELEASE FORM 1 Project Name: 4.5 Alley and Cody Street Utility Improvements Project Project Manager: Nick Larsen Date: 03-15-2022 Press Release No.: Please provide three to five major points describing the “project” (project, equipment, or vehicle). 1. The first point should be an overview of the project, or What the project consists of. 2. Use two to four more points to include information such as: Who is in charge or which department; When the project will begin; Where the project will be or be used; Why the city is moving forward with the project; Other key information, such as road closures, costs, and if this project is being completed using 5th penny tax dollars. 3. The final point should be a When the project will end and be in use by the City or useable by the public. Point #1 The project is bound by Richards St and Cody Street between Labonte Road and 5th Street. The project consists of replacing the aging water and sewer mains in the 4.5 Alley between Richards and Cody and the aging water line in Cody from the 4.5 Alley to 5th Street. Point #2 The Public Works Department and City Engineer worked collaboratively on the design of the project and will oversee the construction of the project. Point #3 The project construction is anticipated to begin in July 2022 and last approximately 3 months. Point #4 The project will remediate ongoing issues associated with aging utilities and improve the overall efficiency off the system. Point #5 The project is projected to be complete by September 30, 2022
