The successful candidate will have good excellent verbal and written communication with a uplifting, upbeat and positive nature, along with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees and the public; basic accounting practice knowledge and organizational and time management skills. Position Description Overview Our new Cashier/Receptionist will be responsible for pay- ment processing and customer reception while maintaining positive public relationships. Responsibilities include: Initial point of contact for customer by phone and in person. Receipts all monies for the City. Balancing daily re- ports and preparing daily bank deposit. Gathers, sorts and directs incoming mail and drop box- es. Prepares outgoing mail. Serves as backup for utility billing and accounts receiva- ble customers and processes. Assists in maintenance of cemetery records. Maintains inventory of records. Documents and assist with disposal as needed. Composes routing and detailed correspondence. Prepares purchase documentation. Maintains general office supplies, inventories and makes purchases as needed. Distributes petty cash. Education and Experience One year experience in bookkeeping or public contact work is preferred. Note: The duties outlined may not be exhaustive, and the examples provided are not an exhaustive list. SUPERVISION EXERCISED/ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to the Administrative Services Director/Treasurer; no direct supervisory responsibilities. DUTIES: Serves as initial point of contact for customer by phone and in person. Identifies customer needs, provides general information, and directs to appropriate department or staff. Gathers incoming mail and drop boxes. Sorts, and directs incoming mail for the City. Prepares outgoing mail. Receipts all monies for the City. Balances daily reports and cash drawer. Prepares daily bank deposit. Serves as backup for utility billing and accounts receivable customers and processes. Assists in maintenance of cemetery records. Maintains inventory of records in accordance with the Wyoming State Archives Record Retention Schedules for Political Subdivisions. Documents and assists with disposal as needed. Composes routing and detailed correspondence and other materials from general instructions, drafts or records. Prepares purchase documentation according to established procedures. Maintains general office supplies, inventories and makes purchases as needed. Distributes petty cash following prescribed procedures. Balances and make appropriate reimbursement requests. KNOWLEDGE AREAS: Knowledge of fundamental principles, methods and techniques of basic accounting, customer service techniques, cash handling processes, electronic data processing and filing techniques and systems. SKILL/ABILITY AREAS: Uplifting, upbeat, and positive nature. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to maintain positive relationships with employees and the public.
