OUR CITY Douglas Wyoming Mission: To serve our community with opportunities that create a better way of life. ---PAGE BREAK--- Candidate Profile The Maintenance Worker II for the City of Douglas will be a responsible individual who is able to perform a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance of the grounds of City parks, public areas and recreational areas. This candidate will work under the supervision of the Superintendent of Parks, Rec and Cemetery in an outdoor setting. Position Description Overview The Maintenance Worker II will be responsible for per- forming a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance of the grounds of the City parks, public areas and recrea- tional areas. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintains and repairs irrigation systems in public parks, including controllers, valves, pumps; oversees and coor- dinates watering of public areas and winterizing of sys- tems. Operates equipment for work units, including front-end loader, backhoe, bucket truck. Mows and trims grass on lawn areas in parks, parkways and other outdoor areas using riding and push mowers and weed trimmers. Manually picks up debris in outdoor areas for disposal, empties trash receptacles and dog pot. Pulls and cuts weeds in outdoor areas, plants, and wa- ters trees, plants and flowers. Trims trees using chainsaw, bucket truck and hand tools. Assists in digging graves using manual labor, covers gravesite after burial; assists in the raising of graves by filling in with dirt, seeding, cutting, and tying sod. Set up lowering device. Builds, paints, and seals signs; installs as directed. Removes snow from park and cemetery roadways and walkways, and public facilities. Assists with various construction or repair projects. Applies fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides to areas as instructed. Education and Experience One year of experience at the level of Mainte- nance Worker I. Valid Wyoming Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B.
