Candidate Profile The Maintenance Worker II-Sanitation for the City of Douglas will be a responsible individual who will be operating and maintaining a refuse collection truck, playing a critical role in maintain public health and safety by ensuring timely waste removal services throughout the community. This candidate will work under the supervision of the Streets and Alleys Supervisor in Public Works. Position Description Overview Our new Maintenance Worker II– Sanitation will be re- sponsible for operating and maintaining a refuse collection truck. Responsibilities include: • Operate a refuse truck along assigned routes for the collection of waste and recycling materials. • Perform daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the refuse truck is in good working order, reporting any issues to the supervisor. • Safely load, transport, and unload solid waste, recycla- bles, and yard debris at designated disposal sites. • Follow specific route schedules and adjust as needed based on road or weather conditions. • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including traffic laws and waste manage- ment protocols. • Provide excellent customer service by responding to resident or business inquiries in a courteous and pro- fessional manner. • Monitor truck for any mechanical issues, perform basic troubleshooting, and report needed repairs. • Assist with other Public Works duties, including snow removal, as needed. Education and Experience Minimum of 1 year experience operating heavy vehicles, preferably in waste collection or similar services. High school diploma or equivalent Valid Wyoming Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B or higher with air brake endorse- ment. Compensation/Benefits The Cemetery Sexton position will have a minimum hourly salary of $24.43. Qualifications and experience will be evaluated.
