MARCH 2013 FloodSmart Online Tools and Resources for Property Owners FloodSmart—the marketing campaign for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)— provides an array of tools and resources to help you understand your flood risk and learn how you can financially protect yourself with flood insurance. The tools are available on the FloodSmart website, FloodSmart.gov/consumertools. The Starting Point: FloodSmart.gov FloodSmart.gov is the official website of the NFIP, where you can determine your property’s flood risk, learn about flood insurance, and discover ways to reduce your risk. The site also offers a wealth of materials and interactive tools to help you better understand your flood risk and the consequences of flooding. Also, if you don’t already have an insurance agent, FloodSmart can give you contact information for insurance agents in your area. One-Step Flood Risk Profile Directly on the homepage, your flood risk can be determined by entering your address into the One-Step Flood Risk Profile tool. This tool also will show you estimated insurance premiums and contact information for local insurance agents.
