OUR COMMUNITY Douglas Wyoming ---PAGE BREAK--- Candidate Profile The Temporary Animal Care Specialist for the City of Douglas will be passionate about animals and dedicated to caring for them; from walking and grooming to cleaning up after them. They will be responsible, a self-starter, team player, and above all flexible. This individual will care for stray and abandoned animals and serve the public in a professional manner. Position Description Overview Our new Temporary Animal Care Specialist will have responsibilities that include: Learn and accurately apply shelter policies. Learn to identify different breeds of animals. Follow directions provided orally and in writing. Work in and around sights and odors normally found in an animal shelter on a sustained basis Regularly inspect animal areas. Regularly feed, water, groom, exercise and otherwise care for cats and dogs • Clean and sanitize animal cages/pens effectively • Work with the public in a friendly, pleasant, and courteous manner  Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers Education and Experience Experience around animals and understanding domestic animal behavior and gaining animals' trust is a plus.
