The public is invited to the site of the future passive park on Rock Cellar Road, off Highway 183/Elliott Family Parkway, in Dawsonville. The groundbreaking event will be held rain or shine. Ms. Styles’ friend and former District 1 Commissioner Sharon Fausett said at that time that the donation leaves a lasting legacy for Ms. Styles, and that the county is blessed to receive the land for a future park. Chairman Billy Thurmond looks forward to breaking ground on Styles Park in October. He said, "Dawson County has been blessed to receive from Ms. Styles approximately 120 acres on the northwestern side of our county to be used as a passive park. On behalf of the board and all of our citizens, we are grateful. This donation of land will benefit our citizens forever going forward."
