As a response to the continuous increase in demand for more space for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, we are thrilled to be in the planning phases of an auxiliary gymnasium at Rock Creek Park. This new construction will include multiple gymnasiums and will help alleviate the growth in the programs that utilize indoor court space. The estimated completion date is yet to be determined. PLAYGROUND UPGRADES AUXILIARY GYMNASIUM STYLES PARK FEE INCREASES PIER AT WAR HILL PARK We are excited to announce that we are replacing the 2 main playgrounds at Rock Creek Park and Veterans Memorial Park this year. The awarded vendor experienced some major setbacks as a result of Hurricane Helene; therefore, they are getting a much later start on the project than was originally planned. Beginning March 1, the existing playgrounds will be removed and the new construction will begin. This is anticipated to be a 120-day project, hopefully finishing up before or around July 1. Our newest park is being built off of Hwy 183/Elliott Family Pkwy and will be a passive park, which will eventually include trails and a pavilion. The 120 acre lot was donated by a Dawson County native with directive for it to be developed as a public park. Groundbreaking will begin this year; the estimated completion date is to be determined. The following fee increases will take effect immediately: Non-resident fees will increase to $100 for all applicable registrations, rentals, and passes Admission fees for pool entry at Veterans Memorial Park will increase as follows: Daily admission: $5 per person (cash only; no bills over $20) Individual Season Pass: $50 per person (non-resident fee applies) Family Season Pass (5 person max; same household): $125 per family (non- resident applies) After many years without, we’re proud to announce that we will be installing a new pier at War Hill Park this year. The exact time frame is to be determined but we hope it will be complete before the end of the year.
