Dawson County Land Disturbance Requirements 2026 One Acre or more will ALWAYS require a Land Disturbance Permit (LDP) issued by the county with the applicant also registering a Notice of Intent (NOI) with State EPD by their website Under an Acre • If disturbing land within 200 feet or less of state waters (lake, creek, stream) o Need LDP (No NOI required) o If unsure whether or not state waters, discuss first with county staff • Inside a subdivision (common development) not near state waters o BEFORE August 1, 2000 (based on initial recorded subdivision plat) No LDP or NOI required o After August 1, 2000 NEEDS LDP and NOI • Outside subdivision not near state waters o No LDP or NOI required NOTE: Land Disturbance Permit will require Soil Erosion and Sediment Control plans reviewed and approved by Dawson County staff Before a county building permit can be issued.
