Girls Volleyball 2026 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5-7 Zero Tolerance Policy 2nd-5th Grade Rules 6th-8th Grade Rules Game Schedules ---PAGE BREAK--- REVISED 2/7/23 Dawson County Parks & Recreation Zero Tolerance & Conduct Policy ~By Resolution of the Dawson County Parks and Recreation Board we hereby adopt the following policies, effective February 6th, 2023~ Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Sportsmanship and Conduct Policy: Positive cheering by players, coaches and spectators is encouraged. Any negative cheering/yelling may result in a warning or removal from the site, whether it is for or against your team. In addition, negative comments to or about officials/referees may also result in a warning or ejection. Any coach or spectator ejected from a park event will receive a 2-game suspension and a $100.00 fine. This penalty must be served before returning to a park sponsored event. Players ejected will receive a 1 game suspension. With exception of adult sports, who will serve a 2-game suspension and pay a $100.00 fine. Dawson County Parks and Recreation ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY: ~This policy is implemented for the purpose of upholding a safe, healthy and enjoyable recreation environment for all the citizens of Dawson County, our visitors and most of all, our youth. ~ Coaches, parents or any spectator ejected from a park sponsored event will be placed on probation for one year and receive a 2-game suspension and a $100.00 fine. Depending on the severity of the ejection, coaches, parents or spectators may be banned from participating in park activities for a period of time to be determined by the recreation board of Dawson County. Players ejected from a park sponsored event will receive a 1 game suspension. Depending on the severity of the ejection, players may be banned from participating in park activities for a period of time to be determined by the recreation board of Dawson County. Anyone guilty of making gestures, using profanity or threats towards players, coaches, spectators, officials, staff or any visitor will receive a 2-game suspension and a $100.00 fine. Players at fault will receive a 1 game suspension. Anyone guilty of fighting, pushing, striking or other negative physical contact, while on park property, will be ejected from the premises. Physical altercations will result in a suspension for the remainder of the season as well as a $100.00 fine. In addition, depending on the severity of the incident, persons involved may receive additional suspensions, probation, fines and penalties upon review by the recreation board. Any behavior by a coach, spectator or visitor which serves to incite others to become disorderly will constitute a 2-game suspension and a $100.00 fine. Players at fault will receive a 1 game suspension. Absolutely no use of drugs or alcohol will be tolerated while on park property. Use of tobacco products is restricted to designated smoking areas and will not be allowed in dugouts, playing areas or bleachers. Violations of the above policy will be handled in accordance with penalties set forth. However, Dawson County Parks and Recreation and the Dawson County Recreation Board reserve the right to impose penalties greater than those outlined if a situation dictates, based on severity. We further reserve the right to suspend coaching, player and spectator privileges where appropriate. Zero tolerance will apply to out of county games as well. Appeals may be filed, in writing, with Dawson County Parks athletic or administrative staff. Hearings will be conducted at the next park board meeting. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2025 Mountain Volleyball League Elementary Grades 2nd-5th League Rules ● Will be governed by GHSA rules ● Players cannot touch net during play. If a ball hits the line it is considered in and point will be given to appropriate team. ● Rally scoring (point given after every dead ball) ● There will be a total of 6 players on the court at one time. Teams must have a minimum of 4 players to begin match. The game will be ruled as a forfeit if there are less than 4 players at the beginning of start of game time. This includes post season tournament play. ● Regular Season ONLY: A team may “pick up” a player to give that team the minimum to start a game from a rostered player from the same age division or younger from their county. ● Tournament: Players on ORIGINAL ROSTER ONLY will be allowed to play with each team. ● Matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets to 25, with the 3rd set to 15. If a team wins the first two sets there will NOT be a 3rd set played. ● Rosters: Each individual ORIGINAL team roster will be kept by the agency in case there is a player discrepancy during the season. Age Control ● Players will be on teams by grade level not by age. ● Eligible grades that can participate 2nd-5th Graders. Game Day Rules ● Both teams receive a 3-minute warm up before starting the match. ● 2 timeouts per set lasting 30 seconds each. ● Must have 5 players on court to start the match and/or finish. The teams can finish with 6 vs 6 players. ● The HOME team needs to have a score flipper and at least one line judge for each match. This can be a parent, but no children under age 10 can line judge. ● Players may have numbers on the back and front chest of their jersey ● Each team will need to have a team captain for captains meetings at the beginning of the match for the coin toss. ● Each team should play 2(two) matches on game day Saturday’s Serving ● 2nd and 3rd grade can serve from the 10ft line to the back baseline, which is regulation line. 4th and 5th grade serve from 20 ft. line ● Servers get one serve toss redo per rotation ● 2nd–5th Grade: Servers have a max of three serves if they continue to score. The team should have to rotate to the next server on their team instead of losing the serve to help certain players running the score up on serves. Net, Court Size, Volleyballs ● Net will be 6’4 (one foot shorter than regulation size) All games will be played on one court to minimize time for net height changes. ● Court size for both age groups- 60’ x 30’ with 10 foot line marked for serving ● Ball- 10U will use Volley Lite volleyballs (same size in diameter, but lighter in weight) Rotations & Substitutions ● The 2nd–5th grade teams will need to rotate to every position where the rotation will rotate after each server has served. (Snake rotation/6-6 rotation, each player will play every spot). New server (sub) will enter from the sideline when running this rotation. Any player can sub in for anyone in the match, but once they have subbed in or out for that player at a certain position, they can only sub in again for that same player at the same position for the rest of the set. ● Players re-entering the set must return to their original position in the serving order in relation to other teammates. For example, if player #7 comes off the bench to replace player the only way player #2 can rejoin the match is to replace player #7 at her original position between players #1 and ● Substitutions will reset at the start of each set. ● All substitutions must occur within the 10 ft. line & net, with the exception of a libero who switches in and out of the back row, behind the 10 ft. line. ● Referee must signal before subs can enter the court. ● Teams in 6th-8th grade also have the option to do the snake rotation if they choose to do so. If this is chosen, the new server (sub) will enter from the sideline when running this rotation. This allows all players to play for the same amount of time. Rotations* Any rotation of players can be used as long as the correct server is used for each rotation. Lineups most rotate so that every player enters the service position once before the second rotation begins.
