NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE The Dawson County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2025 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 1.92 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the Dawson County Courthouse/Administration Building located at 25 Justice Way, Dawsonville, Georgia on September 4, 2025 at 11:00 am. Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase will be held in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the Dawson County Courthouse/Administration Building located at 25 Justice Way, Dawsonville, Georgia on September 4, 2025 at 6:00 pm and September 11, 2025 at 10:00 am. The tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 5.463 mills, an increase of 0.103 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 5.360 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $525,000 is approximately $54.08 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $400,000 is approximately $41.20.
