Extreme Temperature Centers During extreme temperatures for either heat or cold, facilities have been identified and designated as heated and/or air-conditioned facilities where persons can temporarily go during periods of extreme temperatures, difficult travel conditions, and/or extended power outages. Few and limited services are provided beyond what is normally available in that facility. Extreme Temperature Centers are open during the facility’s normal business hours. It is advised to call ahead to check on open/closed status and for hours of operation.
