CHAPTER 17 Dallas County, Iowa TITLE III - PUBLIC ORDER AND SAFETY CHAPTER 17 AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC AND ESTABLISHMENT OF THROUGH HIGHWAYS 17.01 Purpose 17.03 Regulation by resolution 17.02 Definitions 17.01 PURPOSE. This Ordinance is created to effect the provisions of Chapter 321, particularly sections 321.236, 321.255 and 321.256 and 321.472 of the Iowa Code, (as may be amended hereafter) with respect to the designation of secondary roads within the county as through highways, and provision for the regulation thereof by placement of stop or yield signs upon intersections of other secondary roads therewith. Be it enacted by the Dallas County Board of Supervisors: 17.02 Definitions are as provided in Chapter 321.1 of the Iowa Code (as may be amended hereafter). 17.03 Regulation of designation of through highways and for the placement of stop and yield signs to control intersections upon such highways within the jurisdiction of the county shall be by resolution of the board of supervisors, duly proposed and passed at any lawful meeting of the board of supervisors. The County engineer shall maintain a list of the placement of such signs, together with the identification of the resolution regulating such placement. The placement and regulation of all such signs effected by resolution of the Dallas County Board of Supervisors predating the enactment of this ordinance are hereby ratified and enacted as if passed by resolution following enactment of this ordinance.
