Colusa county Ordinance Section 3-35: Rabies Vaccination Required Every dog owner, after his dog attains the age of four months, shall at such intervals of time as prescribed by the state department of health, procure a canine rabies vaccination from a licensed veterinarian. It is Animal Control's duty to impound all unvaccinated dogs. If a dog is impounded the owner has seventy-two (72) hours to cause the dog to be vaccinated. If the dog is not vaccinated within the seventy-two (72) hours then Animal Control shall humanely destroy the dog. Dogs found to be running at large and/or without a license will be cited and impounded. Please make sure that your dog is properly licensed and confined at all times.
