TANK INSTALLATION CHECK LIST UST: Tank is corrosion resistant: Choose one: Steel with sacrificial anode; Steel with impressed current; Fiberglass reinforced plastic; Equivalent Technology. Secondary Containment System: Choose One: Double-walled tank; a vault; cut-off walls; an impervious underlayment Leak Monitoring/Detection System: Choose one: Monitor interstitial space: (Choose one) electronic; vapor/pressure; stick/visual; In-tank monitoring system; Observation well or wells: (choose one) vapor well; groundwater well. ---PAGE BREAK--- Overfill Protection: Catchment Basins and (choose one) automatic shutoff devices; overfill alarms; ball float valves. OTHER Testing leads for cathodic protection, if applicable. Di-electric fittings,bushings, washers, sleeves or gaskets, etc, if applicable Factory coating, if applicable. Watertight manway for line entrance to tank. First Stage Vapor recover for gasoline tanks , if applicable. Plumb for second stage vapor recovery (recommended). AST Cathodic protection for tank bottoms, if applicable. Primer coat, bond coat and two or more final coats of paint. Impermeable barriers under tank bottom, if applicable. Monitoring system between tank bottom and impermeable barrier, if applicable. Gauges for aboveground storage tanks OR High level alarm. AND design capacity, working capacity identification number Dike : concrete or steel. UST/AST VALVES choose those applicable Shutoff valves for remote pumping units at motor fuel dispensers, if applicable. Shutoff valves for gravity fed motor fuel dispensers, if applicable. Check valve for pump filled tanks, if applicable. Operating valves for gravity drained tanks, if applicable. ---PAGE BREAK--- Spill prevention equipment. Check valves for suction pumps, if applicable. PIPING Choose one Equivalent technology Fiberglass reinforced plastic pipes Steel/iron pipes with Galvanic coatings and Cathodic protection sacrificial anodes or impressed current plus Di-electric fittings,bushings, washers, sleeves or gaskets, etc. PLUS: Access ports for tightness testing. Leak detection for piping systems employing a remote pumping system for dispensing motor fuels: Choose one Continuous alarm plus monitoring; Automatic shutoff plus monitoring monitoring includes: Ground water monitoring, or Vapor monitoring, or Double wall lines with interstitial monitoring. OTHER ____Check valve at pump for suction pumps. ____Spill pan for dispenser or pump island. Additional requirements of other state and federal agencies: Tier 2 reporting annually to Cortland County LEPC and DEC. SPCC Plan for AST over 660 gallons or UST over 42,000.
