CORTLAND COUNTY HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE RECYCLING DAY The County of Cortland and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) will be conducting a Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Program collection on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Cortland County Recycling Center. The Recycling Center is located at 137 S. Pendleton Street in the City of Cortland, NY. The hours of operation for the collection are between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Funding for the Household Hazardous Waste Program is being provided by the County of Cortland and the NYSDEC. The County of Cortland has contracted with a certified Household Hazardous Waste Handling and Disposal firm to conduct the collection event. All Cortland County residents interested in participating in the Household Hazardous Waste Program must pre- schedule an appointment by calling (607) 756-8077, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. Appointments will be issued in ½ hour time blocks, with several other residents participating within the same time frame.
