Boyden Jeremy Boylan Chair, Cortland County Legislature Clerk of the Legislature November Committee Items Solid Waste Committee: (Nov. 4 at 8:30 a.m. – Rm. 304) • The County has received proposals for operation of the County Recycling Center. The Committee will review the proposals and determine how to proceed with operations and administration of the Recycling Program for 2016. *There will be another Special Meeting of the Solid Waste Committee Nov. 12 at 8 a.m. Building &Grounds Committee: (Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. – Rm. 304) • The County has selected a consultant for the website redesign. Out of five proposals, CivicPlus is the preferred company, at a cost of $26,994. Work will begin in December and the County’s new web presence for all departments will be released in late spring. Highway Committee: (Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. – Rm. 304) • The Highway Committee will discuss operations at the Cortland County Airport and what will be included in a NYS Department of Transportation grant application. Health & Human Services: (Nov. 5 at 9 a.m. – Rm. 304) • Proposals have been reviewed for Parent Aide, Parent Training an Foster Care Visitation Services for the Department of Social Services. Previously administered by Cornell Cooperative Extension, the County will consider a contract with Elmcrest Children’s Center. • The Committee will consider a resolution to re-appoint Public Health Director Catherine Feuerherm. Agriculture/Planning/Environment: (Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. – Rm. 304) • Following receipt of petitions from residents at Pine Hill Trailer Park, the Committee will discuss potential changes to the public transit bus routes. Judiciary & Public Safety: (Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. – Rm. 304) • The Committee will hear an update on the Phase I project with consultant SMRT regarding a potential new Public Safety Facility. Solid Waste Committee: (Nov. 12 at 8 a.m. – Rm. 304) • Findings from an independent committee review of potential health impacts of using ash as Alternate Daily Cover at the landfill will be reviewed. Following this the committee will consider a resolution to contract with OCRRA for acceptance of ash as Beneficial Use Material at the County landfill. Personnel Committee: (Nov. 12 at 9 a.m. – Rm. 304) • The Committee will hear from the Personnel Department, Legislature, County Attorney and Board of Elections. Budget & Finance Committee: (Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. – Rm. 304) • The Committee will consider a resolution to re-appoint Ms. Peggy Mousaw as Director of Budget & Finance/Budget Officer, as her term expires Dec. 31.
