Job Sheet #4 Rapid Forcible Exit of Interior Doors Introduction: Given proper hand tools, the firefighter will demonstrate forcing or breaking a jammed or locked interior door. Job Steps 1. Firefighter locates door and attempts to open normally. 2. Firefighter sizes up the door construction and locking mechanism. 3. Firefighter actually performs or verbalizes/simulates all of the following: - Drive point of halligan tool into jam and push down on the handle - Remove/destroy door stop with adz end of halligan - Punch a hole through the door - Remove the hinges - Use body or SCBA to force - Use legs to kick out door
