Unapproved Cap – very common and least expensive – not allowed. This style cap is no longer allowed. Unapproved Cap – Typically used indoors or other special situations with additional provisions. Must have additional cover and down facing well vent with screen. This style cap is no longer allowed. Approved Cap – Sealed, Screen-vented cap. This cap is provided with the required well vent and 24-mesh insect screen. Cap has two pieces with rubber casket seal. All water supply wells must have this approved style cap.
