Cortland County Fire Chief’s Association Dan Newton Scholarship Fund Application Applicant Information: Home Applicant’s Affiliation: (please check and complete the most applicable) Applicant is a member of the Fire Department. Parent/Guardian is a member of the Fire Department. I agree to abide by the scholarship rules set forth by the Cortland County Chief’s Association.” Applicant Please review the requested information listed on the back of this sheet and attach. ---PAGE BREAK--- The following must be attached to the completed application: 1. Two letters of recommendation. One from a school advisor or teacher and the second from a non-family source. 2. Those students serving as a member in good standing in a Cortland County Fire Department and pursuing higher education, shall provide a letter from their Fire Chief stating their service and standing with the department, as well as, a letter from a school advisor or teacher and the third from a non-family source. 3. Those students who are the children of a firefighter in good standing in a Cortland County Fire Department and pursuing higher education shall provide a letter from the parent or guardians Fire Chief stating their service and standing with the department, as well as, a letter from a school advisor or teacher and the third from a non-family source. 4.
