Recreation Attendant- City Page 1 I 1 Jurisdiction: Cortland County Civil Division: City of Cortland Jurisdictional Class: Competitive Adopted: 8/12/1980 Revised: 5/12/1981 RECREATION ATTENDANT DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position involves the performance of routine work in connection with the conduct of various recreation activities or the care of a recreation facility while in use. The work is performed under direct supervision with specific instructions provided as to the duties to be completed, the order of completion, and method of completion. Does related work as required. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Assists in the conduct of activities as a recreation center, gymnasium or other physical facility; Maintains and helps prepare fields, courts, and related recreation facilities by putting up nets, marking courts, lining and rolling fields, cleaning up, cutting grass, and picking up trash; Cleans and disinfects locker rooms, toilets, and related facilities; Acts as cashier or ticket taker; Assists in the flooding and maintenance of ice skating rinks; Locks and unlocks doors and gates; Issues recreation supplies and equipment; Enforces regulations and maintains order at recreation facilities; Maintains records of attendance, activities, and equipment.
