THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A TANK LIFTING AND SETTING PLAN TO THE ENGINEER FOR REVIEW, A MINIMUM OF SEVEN CALENDAR DAYS PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED DELIVERY OF THE JET-A FUEL TANK. THE PLAN SHALL DETAIL THE PROPOSED SIZE, TYPE AND LOCATION OF THE CRANE, TANK DELIVERY ROUTE AND PROPOSED SETTING OF THE NEW TANK. SPECIAL NOTES REGARDING SITE & REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS GENERAL NOTES GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES AVIATION NOTES CONTRACTOR'S SPECIAL PAVEMENT NOTE 1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH FAA ADVISORY CIRCULAR (AC) 150/5370-2G, THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS, AND THE PLANS FOR GUIDANCE ON OPERATIONAL SAFETY ON AIRPORTS DURING CONSTRUCTION. ALL DEBRIS DEPOSITED ON ANY AIRPORT PAVEMENT SHALL BE REMOVED CONTINUOUSLY DURING THE COURSE OF WORK. IN ADDITION, THE CONTRACTOR MUST TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT MATERIALS FROM ESCAPING FROM THE WORK AND/OR STOCKPILE AREAS. SEE SPECIFICATION FOR ITEM S619, WORK ZONE TRAFFIC CONTROL. 2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE QUALIFIED FLAGGERS WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTROL OF MOVEMENT OF THE CONTRACTOR'S EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL ACROSS ALL ACTIVE AIR OPERATIONS (AOA'S). THE COST OF THIS WORK SHALL BE INCLUDED IN ITEM S619, WORK ZONE TRAFFIC CONTROL. ANY MOVEMENT OF CONTRACTOR'S VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT MUST BE FIRST CONFIRMED BY THE DRIVER'S PERSONAL OBSERVATION THAT NO AIRCRAFT IS APPROACHING HIS POSITION AND THAT ALL ACTIVE PAVEMENT CROSSINGS ARE CLEAN. A FULLY OPERATIONAL VACUUM TRUCK SHALL BE KEPT ON SITE TO REMOVE ALL FOREIGN OBJECT DEBRIS (FOD). 3. NOTICE TO AIRMEN (NOTAM) ON ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES WILL BE DIRECTED THROUGH THE ENGINEER AND ISSUED BY THE AIRPORT. ALL CLOSURES OF ANY PORTION OF A TAXIWAY, AIRCRAFT APRON OR RUNWAY WILL REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 72 HOURS NOTICE PRIOR TO THE REQUESTED CLOSURE. REQUESTS FOR CLOSURE MUST BE MADE THROUGH THE ENGINEER AND WILL BE COORDINATED WITH THE AIRPORT. THE AUTHORITY TO CLOSE ANY AIRPORT FACILITY RESTS ENTIRELY WITH THE AIRPORT. 4. ALL UTILITY CONNECTIONS TO THE STAGING AREA ARE TO BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. THIS WORK SHALL BE PAID FOR UNDER MOBILIZATION, ITEM S699. 5. ALL CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT MUST MAINTAIN A DISTANCE GREATER THAN 25 FEET FROM ANY PARKED AIRCRAFT. 6. AT THE COMPLETION OF WORK IN ANY CONSTRUCTION PERIOD, AND PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED OPENING OF THE DESIGNATED AIRFIELD FACILITY, AN INSPECTION TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE RESPECTIVE AIRPORT FACILITIES ARE IN THE APPROPRIATE CONDITION TO BE OPENED WILL BE PERFORMED BY THE ENGINEER AND A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE AIRPORT. THE CONTRACTOR'S CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR MUST BE PRESENT DURING THIS INSPECTION. 7. CONTRACTOR SHALL DESIGNATE ONE PRINCIPAL PERSON AND TWO BACKUP PEOPLE WHO CAN BE CONTACTED 24 HOURS A DAY IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. THESE PEOPLE SHALL BE AUTHORIZED TO MAKE DECISIONS ON THE COMPANY'S BEHALF AND MUST PHYSICALLY RESPOND WITHIN ONE HOUR. 8. ACCESS FOR AIRPORT RESCUE AND FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL, AIRCRAFT AND AIRPORT MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES. THE AIRPORT RESCUE AND FIRE FIGHTING OPERATIONS, AIRCRAFT AND AIRPORT MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT SHALL HAVE RIGHT-OF-WAY OVER ALL CONTRACTORS OPERATIONS AT ALL TIMES. 9. ATTENTION IS DIRECTED TO THE DATUM USED IN THESE PLANS. ALL BENCHMARK AND CONSTRUCTION ELEVATIONS SHOWN IN THESE PLANS ARE FROM A USGS DATUM, NAVD 88. 10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND PLACE THREE 2"X4" WOOD MARKERS AT LOCATIONS OF EXISTING MONUMENTS TO REMAIN AS INDICATED ON THE PLANS OR AS ORDERED BY THE ENGINEER. THE 2"X4" MARKERS SHALL BE 4' LONG AND SHALL BE FIRMLY EMBEDDED 18" INTO THE GROUND. 11. HORIZONTAL & VERTICAL CONTROL AS INDICATED ON SHEET GP-01. 12. IN THIS REGARD, NO EQUIPMENT OR MATERIAL CAN BE LOCATED SO AS TO OBSTRUCT THE SAFE FLOW OF TRAFFIC ON THE EXISTING RUNWAY, TAXIWAY, AND AIRCRAFT PARKING SURFACES. PARTICULAR ATTENTION MUST BE GIVEN TO THE USE OF TAXIWAYS FOR THE PURPOSE OF MOVING OR PARKING EQUIPMENT. 2. ALL CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES OPERATING ON AIRPORT PROPERTY MUST DISPLAY AN FAA-APPROVED FLAG ON A STAFF OR ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE SO THAT THE FLAG WILL BE READILY VISIBLE. THE FLAG SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN THREE FEET SQUARE CONSISTING OF AVIATION ORANGE AND WHITE SQUARES OF NOT LESS THAN 1 FOOT ON EACH SIDE. ROTATING AMBER BEACONS SHALL BE USED AT NIGHT. 3. THE CONTRACTOR'S JOB SUPERINTENDENT IS TO MEET WITH THE OWNERS ON-SITE REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO THE START OF EACH WORKING DAY TO COORDINATE DAILY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. 4.
