1 Columbia County Library Board Meeting March 14, 2024 • 11:30 am In attendance: Columbia County Library Board • Dr. Sandra Carraway • Lindsey Brantley • Tripp Calloway • Windy Bedingfield, Treasurer • Barry Paschal • Hillary Millar • Bill Speer Library Staff • Mary Lin Maner, Library Director • Devin Morris, Regional Admin Coordinator Other • Allison Couch, District 4 Commissioner • Glenn Kennedy, Deputy County Manager • John Luton, Director, Community Services Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 11:30 am. Approval of Agenda February 2024 agenda was approved. Approval of Minutes February 2024 minutes were approved. Friends of the Libraries • See Friends Treasurer Report. Treasurer Report • See Treasurer Report • CD matured on March 1, 2024. Windy emailed the board to let them know of the available rates with Edward Jones and took the best option of 5.15% with Wells Fargo for 12 months. County Library Manager Report • Prep for Summer Learning 2024 has begun. • Mary Lin provided circulation stats and library updates. • Provided the board with 4 comment cards we have received in the last month. Report • Lib Tech Grant items have all been distributed. • DHS Tablets and Stand have all been distributed and set up. ---PAGE BREAK--- 2 Unfinished Business: Policy Development for Book Reconsideration Request Update The policy is being finalized and will be voted on during the April meeting. All book reconsideration requests have been paused until the policy is approved. New Business: Middle School Section Update The library managers are working to create a new age group “Middle School Aged”. The plan for this section will be presented during the April meeting. Regional Library Board Members The Regional Board needs one additional member from the CCO Board. A motion was made to nominate Barry Paschal. All voted in favor.
