Columbia County Library Board Meeting February 8, 2022 • 11:30 am In attendance: Columbia County Library Board • Russell Wilder, Board Chair • Marianne Frye, Treasurer • Tripp Calloway • Marlena Bergeron • Stephanie Coghlan • Patrick Conley • John Luton Absent • Janet Wheatley Library Staff • Mary Lin Maner, Library Director • Devin Morris, Regional Admin Coordinator Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 11:33 am. Approval of Agenda The agenda was approved unanimously and without comment. Approval of Minutes The minutes from the November meeting were approved unanimously without comment. Friends of the Libraries Checkbook balance = $53,000 Friends will be purchasing some furniture for Grovetown for their adult book club. Treasurer Report See Treasurer Report. There is a Synovus CD up for renewal March 1. Current rates of renewal at Synovus of 0.10% APY/rate for 12 months and 0.15% APY/rate for 18 months. Motion made and approved for Marianne to inquire about rates with First Community Bank. UPDATED: 2-10-22 Marianne contacted First Community Bank for their current rate offering. They were returned as: 11 month at .20% APY/rate, 19 month at .25% APY/rate and 34 month at .30% APY/rate. After getting an email consensus from the Board members, Marianne emailed the motion: I make a motion that we close the $100,000 CD maturing 3/1/22 at Synovus, send a check to the ---PAGE BREAK--- county with interest accrued on that CD, and open a $100,000 CD at First Community Bank for a term of 11 months at .20% APY/rate. All Board members voted by email to approve the motion. County Library Manager Report See Stat Report. Library circulation is steadily climbing from the holiday lull.
