Instructions for Returning Applicant Temporary Alcoholic Beverage Permit Development Services Division Licensing Department 630 Ronald Reagan Drive Evans, GA 30809 [PHONE REDACTED] [EMAIL REDACTED] Events at which alcoholic beverages are sold to guests directly or indirectly are required to obtain a Columbia County Temporary Alcoholic Beverage Permit. Businesses that do not have an alcoholic beverage catering license issued within Georgia must also obtain a Georgia Department of Revenue Special Event Permit. Applications submitted less than 21 days before the event may not be approved. First, if you are required to apply for the Georgia Department of Revenue Special Event Permit: A1. Complete the attached application for a Temporary Alcoholic Beverage Permit from Columbia County. A2. Apply for the special event permit using the Georgia Department of Revenue’s Georgia Tax Center (GTC) Part of their application requirements includes uploading the completed Columbia County application from step A1. A3. Write down the confirmation number provided as this is required to be input as part of the Columbia County Temporary Alcoholic Beverage Permit. Second, apply for Columbia County Temporary Alcoholic Beverage Permit. You have two options for application. Option 1 (preferred) B1. Apply for a Temporary Alcoholic Beverage Permit through Citizen Self Service at We will obtain your application from the GTC website. The software will send you and us a notice the application was received. You will receive a confirmation email from [EMAIL REDACTED]. B2. Pay for the temporary alcoholic beverage permit. You will receive a payment confirmation from [EMAIL REDACTED]. Option 2 B1. Email the business or individuals’ legal name, name of event, date of the event, and the confirmation number from step A3 above to [EMAIL REDACTED]. We will obtain your application from the GTC website. B2. You will receive email confirmation within 1 business day that your application was received, and you will be provided the application number to make payment through Citizens Self Service. If you do not receive confirmation of any actions by 4:00 p.m. the following business day, please reach out to our office. Your application will be routed for approval. If your criminal history has expired, we will notify you to obtain a new one from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Please call or email if we may assist you with the process.
