Columbia County Library Board Meeting February 7, 2023 • 11:30 am In attendance: Columbia County Library Board Russell Wilder, Board Chair Windy Bedingfield, Treasurer Marlena Bergeron Tripp Calloway Barry Paschal Lindsey Brantley John Luton, Director, Community Services Absent Stephanie Coghlan Library Staff • Mary Lin Maner, Library Director • Devin Morris, Regional Admin Coordinator Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 11:36 am. Approval of Agenda The agenda was approved. Approval of Minutes The minutes from the December meeting were approved. Friends of the Libraries Checkbook balance = $62,188 2022 Store Sales = $11,997.22 2022 eBay Sales = 2,299.81 New Business Election of new Treasurer Marlena Nominated Windy Bedingfield, Tripp seconded, all voted in favor Treasurer Report See Treasurer Report. County Library Manager Report All libraries have return to pre-COVID stat numbers, except for digital resources which had a significant increase during Covid and have remained high. Author Lisa Gardener was here on February 2, 2023, we about 50-60 attendees. ---PAGE BREAK--- We will have a Bigfoot presentation on March 12. We are partnering with Augusta University to hold an author event for their AU Writers Weekend. Elissa Basse and Chris Belden will be here on March 16 to discuss their books and have a signing. We have received our Launchpads from the Gear Grant provided through GPLS. We were also going to get Wi-Fi Hotspots, but there were legal issues so we will be getting something else. Report All Brodart book orders will not be coming in unprocessed. Processing at their warehouse was causing a significant delay in book delivery, all books will now be processed in-house. Mary Lin will attend Library Day at the state capitol on February 8, 2023 to serve Varsity hotdogs to the legislators and talk up the libraries. New Business cont. A CD with First Community Bank has matured. Board voted to move the CD to Edward Jones to be invested in Wells Fargo for 12 months at 4.75%. Next meeting: Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:30 am at the Columbia County Library. Meeting adjourned at 12:17 pm.
