MINUTES EMS ADVISORY BOARD MEETING June 6, 2024 Chairman Lope called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Others present at the meeting included Battalion Chief Ray Blessing, Vince Brogdon, Brian Clark, Suzie Hughes, Chief Wayne Kent and Chief Jeremy Wallen. Members absent were George Bratcher, Larry Hobbs, Matthew Welder, Rob Lewis, Lt. James Moss, Dr. Richard Schwartz, Capt. Andy Shedd and Kevin Stokes. Guests present were Jim Perdue, Col. John Smith, Sgt. Ray Childress, Bill Botham, Julianne Hartman, Tom Schneider and Steven Losgar. Suzie Hughes called the roll and a quorum was established with seven members present. Chief Wallen made a motion to approve the March 7, 2024 meeting minutes as written. Brian Clark seconded the motion, and the motion carried unanimously. Recent Gold Cross Initiatives, Incidents and Events – Col. John Smith updated members on the following: • Reviewed EMS trip counts by nature of call for the period 03/01/2024 – 05/31/2024. Calls are logged as they are received in dispatch. A copy of the report is made a part of the minutes. • EMT class ended March 30, 2024. Eighteen students finished the class. Thirteen passed the National Registry EMT test. • AEMT class has five students and will finish in August. • Next EMT class began June 3, 2024 with twenty-two students. • The next EMR class begins the end of June 2024. Fire Departments First Responder Calls Columbia County Fire Rescue – March 2024 – (Medical) 571 (CPR-6); April 2024 – (Medical) 548 (CPR - May 2024 – (Medical) 519 (CPR – 9) Grovetown Department of Public Safety – February 2024 – 81; March 2024 – 73; April 2024 - 68 Harlem Department of Public Safety – No report.
