Columbia County Library Board Meeting April 12, 2022 • 11:30 am In attendance: Columbia County Library Board • Russell Wilder, Board Chair • Marianne Frye, Treasurer • Tripp Calloway • Marlena Bergeron • Janet Wheatley • Patrick Conley Absent • Stephanie Coghlan Library Staff • Mary Lin Maner, Library Director • Devin Morris, Regional Admin Coordinator Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 11:30 am. Approval of Agenda The agenda was approved unanimously and without comment. Approval of Minutes The minutes from the February meeting were approved unanimously without comment. Friends of the Libraries Checkbook balance = $54,618.88 Friends will be paying for some Summer Learning programs. Treasurer Report See Treasurer Report. CD with Synovus will be maturing on April 21. Marianne discussed the options we have about moving the CD to other banks. She will check in with Edward Jones about their rates and will send out for a vote via email when she has figured out the best options. Update 4/13/22: A motion was made by Marianne Frye that we close the Synovus CD#[PHONE REDACTED] maturing 4/21/22. The accrued interest will go to the County Library Board account and the $100,000 principal used to open a CD in that amount at Edward Jones for a 6-month term at 0.85% interest. ---PAGE BREAK--- County Library Manager Report See Stat Report. The library is still good on book money. Summer Reading begins May 20. Friends will be having a fundraiser in June, Putt Putt in the Stacks. The library will organize it and Friends will handle the money for it. Details are being worked out. Mary Lin went to the Capital and we will be receiving $0.60 per capita for next fiscal year, which is up from $0.40 the previous year. Mary Lin is hoping to use some of next year’s Lib Tech Grant money to get Harlem a Self-Check Out. Report At the May 10 meeting, the Regional Board will be discussing the book Drama that had a complaint submitted about it. New Business Unfinished Business None.
